5/15/09 Baseball
Desert Ridge will be playing in the State Championship Game this Saturday night at 7pm. They won last night against Deer Valley by a score of 9-4. DRHS will be playing fellow Pima Region Member Horizon High School for a chance to be called State Champs. Horizon beat another Pima Member, Pinnacle 9-1 for their shot at the title.

Desert Ridge will play Deer Valley once again on Thursday night in Surprise as DV beat Kofa. The first pitch is set for 4pm.

Desert Ridge won again on Saturday night in Surprise as they beat Deer Valley by a score of 13-3. The team will now wait for the winner of the Kofa/Deer Valley game on Tuesday to see who they play on Thursday.

The D-Ridge baseball team won again last night out in Surprise as they beat fellow Pima Region member Marcos by a score of 7-5. The Jaguars move on in the winners bracket to play Deer Valley Saturday night again in Surprise. The first pitch set for 7pm.

The Desert Ridge baseball team won this past Saturday beating Skyline 11-1. They will be moving on to play Marcos de Niza Tuesday night at Surprise Baseball Stadium. The first pitch is set for 7pm.

The Desert Ridge baseball team is ranked first in power points and is on a 8 game win streak after beating Marcos 8-7 on Tuesday night. The squad will be playing the No.2 team Horizon twice, today and on the 22nd. They have three other games to play before the regular season ends and playoffs begin. All games are within the region and all are in the top ten in power points.

The Desert Ridge baseball community cordially invites you to CJ and Nolan Smith night, this Wednesday night, 6:30 pm at the varsity baseball field of Desert Ridge High School.
As most of you know, these boys were tragically killed in a car accident. After the accident, the parents wanted to do something to keep the memory of their boys alive within the community. It was decided that a memorial baseball camp would be held on Super Bowl Sunday at the Big League Dreams complex in Gilbert. The camp was a tremendous success thanks to countless volunteers from around the Valley.
The Desert Ridge baseball community would like to continue honoring them by having a presentation and celebration ceremony on Wednesday night before the varsity game against Pinnacle. This will be an emotional event, but we feel it is vital to continue supporting the parents of these two boys. Please join us at 6:30 pm at the varsity field to show your support. |
